Advance payment upon consignment

The consignor may request an advance payment upon consignment i.e. a percentage of the appraised value of the consigned lot. In case an advance payment is made upon consignment, a special consignment fee shall be negotiated, which will take into consideration the risk that the item might not sell, as well as the length of time until the scheduled date of auction.

If the consignor has requested and been remitted an advance payment upon consignment and then goes on to withdraw the lot from auction/consignment, Artmark is entitled to receive contractual damages from each individual consignee.

The request for an advance payment upon consignment is addressed to the head of the auction department.
